Setting up Exchange email on an Android device

Description

This guide uses screenshots from the Nexus 4 using a stock version of Android. Depending on your Android device, the screens may look slightly different, however the settings will be the same.

Start by going to the settings icon which is located either on the home screen, or in the app drawer. Under the Accounts heading, click Add Account.

Then select Corporate (this may be displayed as Microsoft Exchange Active Sync on your phone).

Enter your Email Address and Password. If you have an auto-discover record set up on your account already, your phone will automatically find the required server settings. Click Next.

Legacy Settings:

Username: Your email address

Password: Your mailbox password (set inside Service Console)

Server: me-au.server-secure.com

MCAM Settings:

Username: Your email address

Password: Your mailbox password (set inside MCSM)

Server: exchange.server-secure.com

Ensure “Use Secure Connection (SSL)” is ticked. Click Next.

Your phone will now search for the settings from the server. This may take some time depending on your connection.

If you are presented with a Remote Security Administration Prompt, click OK.

Once your phone has obtained the server settings you can configure the account to your requirements. Click Next.

Enter a name for your account. I like to use the email address as the name.

Your phone will now ask you to confirm some security features. Click Activate. Your email is now setup.
