Setting up POP Email on Android

Description

Need help setting up your POP email address on your Android device? Follow the steps below to find out how.

Note: The screenshots in this guide were taken from an Android device running the version KitKat (4.2). The details provided will be the same if you are using another device or different version of Android, however the steps may differ slightly.

From the Home screen, click the Settings icon (your Settings icon may be located in your App Drawer)

You will need to scroll down to the Accounts section and click Add Account.

As this is a POP Email Address, we will need to select POP3 from the list

Enter the Full Email Address and Password. Click Next.

Select POP3.

Please use the settings from the table below which reflect what email service you have with us.

Linux/Windows accounts

Your email address available in Service Console

Password

Your mailbox password available in Service Console

Server

pop.domain.com

Security Type

None

Delete email from server

Set to your own preference


cPanel accounts

Your email address available in Service Console

Click Next

SMTP Server

Provided by your ISP (internet Service Provider)

Port

Provided by your ISP (internet Service Provider)

Click Next

The next screen will allow you to set the frequency in which the inbox is checked and emails are pulled down to your device.

You can set this to your own preference or just leave it on the default settings. Click Next

Give your POP Email account a Display Name on your phone. Enter your Full Name and click Next.

You have now successfully setup your POP email address on your Android device.
